Setelah lama berkutat dengan produk microsoft yaitu windows akhirnya coba coba pindah kelain hati. Opensouce Ubuntu akhirnya tambatan hati jatuh kepadanya, tapi sebenarnya udah tau dari dulu dan udah pernah coba coba juga di versi yang 8, tapi tidak sampe utak atik seperti ini hanya say hello doang… Karena terbiasa dengan XAMPP-nya Windows yang instalasinya tinggal klik 2x, di ubuntu ini sempat kebingungan gimana cara intalasi aplikasi diubuntu. Dan untungnya aja ada temen yang emang udah terbiasa dengan ubuntu, dikasi tau cara instal aplikasinya bisa lewat Terminal (Application – Accessories – Terminal), atau Ubuntu Software Center, ribet sih engga, sedikit ribet sih iya tapi meng-asik-kan Untuk masalah instalasi XAMPP pada ubuntu ternyata saya harus buka kamus google, dengan bahasa inggris yang ga lancar akhirnya bisa juga untuk instalasinya… Ato lebih mudah, ikutan forumnya ubuntu aja di UbuntuForum.org.

Install XAMPP

Pertama itu download XAMPP di http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-linux.html#374

Buka Terminal lalu ketikkan :

sudo tar xvfz xampp-linux-1.5.3a.tar.gz -C /opt

jika ada notifikasi tidak bisa dialokasi kan ke folder opt jalankan dulu perintah :

sudo su

Masukkan pass Ubuntu anda

Kenapa? Karena untuk akses ke folder root /opt diperlukan level admin (root)

Ulangi perintah pertama.

Start XAMPP

Masih di terminal, ketik

sudo /opt/lampp/lampp start

Stop XAMPP

sudo /opt/lampp/lampp stop

Untuk perintah additional

sudo /opt/lampp/lampp

Untuk membuat control panel XAMPP di menu

gedit ~/.local/share/applications/xampp-control-panel.desktop

Akan keluar window, dan ketikkan di window tersebut

Pada instalasi ini, default htdocs nya berlokasi di root /opt, dan setiap mau merubah sesuatu kita harus login sebagai root. Ini sangat merepotkan bukan.

Gunakan ini untuk memotong langkah login sebagai root.

Masih di Terminal, ketikkan

mkdir ~/public_html

lalu

sudo ln -s ~/public_html /opt/lampp/htdocs/$USER

Fungsi dari mkdir adalah kita membuat direktory baru, yang nantinya sebagai tempat file php, html dll dan perintah sudo ln -s ~/public_html /opt/lampp/htdocs/$USER adalah untuk membuat link pada folder public_html tadi ke htdocs root.

Serat optik (Fiber Optic) adalah merupakan saluran transmisi atau sejenis kabel yang terbuat dari kaca atau plastik yang sangat halus dan lebih kecil dari sehelai rambut, dan dapat digunakan untuk mentransmisikan sinyal cahaya dari suatu tempat ke tempat lain. Sumber cahaya yang digunakan biasanya adalah laser atau LED.

Kabel ini berdiameter lebih kurang 120 mikrometer. Cahaya yang ada di dalam serat optik tidak keluar karena indeks bias dari kaca lebih besar daripada indeks bias dari udara, karena laser mempunyai spektrum yang sangat sempit. Kecepatan transmisi serat optik sangat tinggi sehingga sangat bagus digunakan sebagai saluran komunikasi.

Perkembangan teknologi serat optik saat ini, telah dapat menghasilkan pelemahan (attenuation) kurang dari 20 decibels (dB)/km. Dengan lebar jalur (bandwidth) yang besar sehingga kemampuan dalam mentransmisikan data menjadi lebih banyak dan cepat dibandingan dengan penggunaan kabel konvensional. Dengan demikian serat optik sangat cocok digunakan terutama dalam aplikasi sistem telekomunikasi. Pada prinsipnya serat optik memantulkan dan membiaskan sejumlah cahaya yang merambat didalamnya.

Efisiensi dari serat optik ditentukan oleh kemurnian dari bahan penyusun gelas/kaca. Semakin murni bahan gelas, semakin sedikit cahaya yang diserap oleh serat optik.

Dalam jaringan, load balancing adalah teknik untuk mendistribusikan beban kerja secara merata di seluruh komputer dua atau lebih, link jaringan, CPU, hard drive, atau sumber daya lainnya, dalam rangka untuk mendapatkan pemanfaatan sumber daya yang optimal, memaksimalkan throughput, meminimalkan waktu respon, dan menghindari overload.

Menggunakan beberapa komponen dengan load balancing, bukannya komponen tunggal, dapat meningkatkan kehandalan melalui redundansi. Layanan load balancing biasanya disediakan oleh program khusus atau perangkat keras (seperti switch multilayer atau server DNS).

Hal ini biasanya digunakan untuk memediasi komunikasi internal dalam kelompok komputer, terutama ketersediaan tinggi cluster. Jika beban lebih pada server, maka server sekunder mengambil memuat beberapa sedangkan lainnya masih permintaan pengolahan.

Menurut wikipedia PageRank adalah sebuah algoritma yang telah dipatenkan yang berfungsi menentukan situs web mana yang lebih penting/populer. PageRank merupakan salah satu fitur utama mesin pencari Google dan diciptakan oleh pendirinya, Larry Page dan Sergey Brin yang merupakan mahasiswa Ph.D. Universitas Stanford.

Cara kerja

Sebuah situs akan semakin populer jika semakin banyak situs lain yang meletakkan link yang mengarah ke situsnya, dengan asumsi isi/content situs tersebut lebih berguna dari isi/content situs lain. PageRank dihitung dengan skala 1-10.

Contoh : Sebuah situs yang mempunyai Pagerank 9 akan di urutkan lebih dahulu dalam list pencarian Google daripada situs yang mempunyai Pagerank 8 dan kemudian seterusnya yang lebih kecil.
